One thing that residents of the 27th Congressional District of Texas have been asking for is for the candidates to talk more about the issues at hand, instead of speaking solely to their respective political choirs.
Late Saturday night, Democratic candidate Eric Holguin took to Twitter calling out recently elected Republican Congressman Michael Cloud and challenging the rookie congressman to a debate.
In the challenge, Holguin said he wanted Cloud to debate so that “voters can be better informed.”

The tweet then took a jab at Cloud with a picture of Macaulay Culkin peeking nervously from beneath a bed.
It was unclear Saturday what prompted the challenge from Holguin, and political analysts suggest Cloud would likely back down from the challenge.
Political Strategist Kyle McNeil, who worked on four GOP campaigns suggests that Cloud likely feels comfortable with the margins in his recent special election win and would see no need in debating Holguin, especially in a solidly Republican District.
We have reached out to both candidates for comment.
